This charter represents a shared vision of how a wellfunctioning, robust and sustainable infrastructure will help to strengthen mobility and boost economic growth and welfare. The charter is a proposal for a dialogue with the state authorities on both sides of the Öresund.
The report examines the potential for an Öresund Metro between Copenhagen and Malmö. A metro can create a larger, stronger labour market and at the same time solve transport capacity challenges.
An Öresund Metro between Copenhagen and Malmö will result in an expansion of the regions’ common labour market and an increase in the number of jobs within a radius of 60 minutes from 800,000 to 1.3 million.
An Öresund Metro with departures every 1.5 minutes between Copenhagen and Malmö will reduce the travel time by around 20 minutes. The travel time will therefore be halved.
Phase III examined the link with high-speed rail, weighting of the functionality, costs and environmental impacts, connecting-up of districts in Copenhagen and Malmö, effects of shorter travel time, and communication concerning an Öresund Metro.
Phases I and II of the preliminary study examined construction technology, routing, station design, environmental impacts, socioeconomics and dynamic effects.
The report summarises analyses of the future Öresund transport system in which an Öresund Metro is also part of day-to-day life. Based on the experiences of establishing the metro in Copenhagen, the constructional considerations for a metro line running across the Öresund are summarised and the...
The report gives an analysis and evaluation of three scenarios for the construction of an Öresund Metro. The analysis take into account the effect of various travel speeds and frequencies.
